Can decorative patterns become structural elements?

Hand made porcelain dolls

A traditional way of making hand made porcelain dolls

Head piece

1.Use a sculpting stand to hold any type of paper or foil,to secure it safety to the top of the stand.
2.Add clay to cover it and smooth over.
3.Adding clay to create an overall shape of human’s head
4.Next form the shape of eyes sockets.(make sure that both sides are even)
5.Draw lines of symmetry to help up with the placement of features
6.Add details such as mouth and nose
7.Slice off the top of the head (at the back for firing)
8.Slice off under the head out to fit the lower part(the neck)
9.Make a concave under the head to fit the neck

Neck and shoulder

1.Prepare the neck piece
2. Make sure it fits the concave under the head

Hands

1.forming a clay in to a shape of the palm
2.Add details of fingers
3. form arms (meek sure that both arms have same size)

Legs and Feet

1.same as hands and arms,start with feet first
2.Add details of legs and feet
3.Add rungs at the top for placement when attaching to the body
